While celebrating our country’s 246th birthday, I was inspired to paint something powerful and symbolic! I decided to paint this particular beauty in a coiled position, mouth opened and fangs ready to strike the moment she felt threatened! She’s assertive and vigilant! She will act in defense to protect herself and what’s hers and won’t hesitate shaking her rattle to say, “Come and take it!”. This is my artistic, colorful rendition inspired by Christopher Gadsden’s historical patriotic flag.
